If
you’re thinking about volunteering but aren’t sure… stop
thinking about it and Just Do It! My 6 weeks in Chitwan
raced by and has left me with experiences I’ll remember
forever and which have shown me both the deep and
humorous side of life. I hope that it will leave me a
more spiritual and also chilled out person, now adapted
to “Nepali time”!

The
time I spent in Ganganagar was made memorable by the
kindness of the people that lived in the village. I was
welcomed with open arms and made part of the village
community as soon as I got there. I enjoyed being part
of the village and assisting with field work, such as
planting rice and peeling corn, to pass my time. I have
made great friends in this village and would like to
come back and visit one day.

I
can honestly say this has been the most inspiring and
amazing 2 months of my life, Thank You to everyone at
INFO Nepal you are all doing a fantastic job. From the
minute I arrived in Nepal I knew I was going to have an
unforgettable experience. Arriving at night during a
power cut and one of the many strikes was possibly not
the best time to arrive, but a good idea of what to
expect. On arrival I was welcomed into the INFO Nepal
family and paired with another volunteer Nicky, we
stayed together for the 2 months of my placement.
Language training and sightseeing began immediately,
with so much to see and do I realized I had a
challenging 2 months ahead of me.

Thank you for a great experience and an insight into
Nepali culture. We really enjoyed all aspects of our
time here, from the teaching, Happy Home, Kathmandu and
Chitwan. Even though our stay was so short, we were glad
to help in a small way. This experience has opened our
eyes to other important issues in the world that are so
easy to forget in the routine of your day to day life.
